How I choose a guest house

I never take a group somewhere I have not slept myself. I look at five things: a clean bathroom, quiet at night, the breakfast, the hosts and whether there is a place where we can all sit together in the evening.

The last is the most important. The good conversations happen after dinner, around one table — not each in their own room.
